Description

This online course provides training on cannabis in the workplace.

Cannabis is a drug! And drugs can have various effects on your body. Some are good and some are not so good.  Cannabis has psychoactive effects or effects on the brain and central nervous system. It also has medical effects and therefore can be used to treat illnesses and other medical conditions.  The focus of this course is the use of cannabis in the workplace - what is allowed and what is not.  We will review both medical cannabis, and recreational cannabis.  Both are legal in Canada but different rules or laws apply. We’ll also discuss both the intended and unwanted effects of cannabis and how impaired behaviour can impact workplace performance and safety. Knowing about the impact of cannabis and how to deal with cannabis in the workplace is important in protecting the health and safety of all employees.

This online training course may be taken in the comfort of your own home or on the workplace computer system. Depending on your pace, it takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. You may progress through the online course at your own pace and may stop & start at any time.
