Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD), also known as Musculoskeletal Injuries (MSI), account for almost 40% of all injuries involving lost time at work. The costs of these injuries are great both for the worker and the employer. MSDs can cause serious and disabling injuries that can affect both a worker’s personal life and work life. MSDs can lead to poor work quality, decreased productivity, and time off work. They are also costly for the employer through lost productivity, overtime wages, cost of hiring and training of new workers, and cost of retraining injured workers. Workers’ compensation costs are also increased due to lost time and disability.
Ergonomics is the process of designing or arranging the work environment to best match the capabilities of the worker. The goal is to make work comfortable, safe and productive by ensuring that the work environment fits the worker.
Office Ergonomics is an interactive online training course that shows how to recognize ergonomic risk factors that may lead to Musculoskeletal Disorders & to apply ergonomic strategies to prevent these injuries from occurring.
Office Ergonomics may be taken in the comfort of your own home or on the workplace computer system. Depending on your pace, it takes approximately 40 min to complete. You may progress through the online course at your own pace and may stop & start at any time.
